Day 5 had a super sunny start with the first stop being at Bakeri in Brooklyn, for a delicious Scandi inspired breakfast. Nothing like starting the day with a delicious meal at a super cute café where you can also get treats for the rest of the day (We choose cinnamon rolls and banana bread).
On Repeat: M.I.A - Borders
After a lot of teasers via social media, M.I.A is back with her new self-directed video for Borders. Where the singer simply questions 'Borders, what's up with that? Politics, what's up with that?' presenting the idea of persecution of the human condition with a global scope. Completely on point to the current world political situation, it has been on repeat since I first heard it!
The Beauty Dept. - Laura Geller
On Sunday the day started very differently from my average Sunday, I had the pleasure to be invited for a lovely brunch at The Tea Terrace in House of Fraser to meet the inspiring founder of Laura Geller Beauty.
We were introduced to the brand during a lovely chat over brunch followed by a masterclass on the products on the ground floor of House Fraser. I was lucky enough to come home with a lovely goody bag filled with Laura Geller goodies.

Hala Salem x Fine & Candy
(image via Lux Woman)
Fine & Candy latest capsule-collection with it-girl and illustrator Hala Salem brings us to California, the inspiration behind this collaboration. With previous collaborations with Elle magazine, Marie Claire Decor and Elle Decor on her portfolio this Lebanese fashion illustrator is definitely one to watch. The Candycoast Collection features the typical Californian elements like the flamingo, palm trees and ice creams and obviously lots of colour. I'm totally in lovely with the ice cream candle and the Flamingo Motel notebook, how about you?
On My Mind: White Sneakers
If you've been a reader for awhile you've definitely noticed my sneaker obsession. I'm the type of girl the puts comfort on top of the list when it comes to shoes and naturally trainers are my weapon of choice when it comes to everyday looks. Following the trend of white sneakers I've got already quite a few pairs on my collection, but a girl can never have enough shoes and these Converse Chuck Taylor Monochrome have been on my mind since I first laid eyes on them.
New York I Love You. Day. 4
Always starting the day with a good healthy breakfast and coffee on the go. We had a delicious bagel at Black Seed Bagels in Nolita, and with a full and happy belly we decided to spend the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
New York I Love You. Day. 3
Another post on our New York holiday this time spent between food, galleries and museums. The above pictures were taken from The New Museum in Manhattan.
The FvF Apartment
This weeks apartment inspiration comes from the Freunde Von Freunden apartment in collaboration with Vitra in the heart of Berlin. The 65sqm historic apartment on Mulackstrasse was rebuilt and designed to be fully adaptable to the diverse and often unexpected scenarios of the everyday lives.
My First Apartamento: Florence Welch
In this episode of a new collaboration between Nowness and Apartamento magazine, we can take a look inside some of the homes featured in past issues of the interiors magazine. This episode features the British musician Florence Welch and her eccentric Georgian home. Comfortable amongst chaos Florence takes us through her whimsically cluttered London pad. This is the fourth episode of a series of episodes all worth watching here.
New York I Love You. Day. 2
The first full day we spent in New York was a Saturday, we woke up extremely early due to jet lag (apparently it's a real thing...) and headed from Williamsburg to Manhattan Lower East Side for breakfast.
New York I Love You. Day. 1
I finally got around to organise the pictures from my New York trip in September. It was my first time in the city and I can say I was in love!
Mademoiselle Privé: Inside the world of Gabrielle Chanel
(images via Vogue UK)
The Saatchi Gallery is currently showing Chanel's Mademoiselle Privé, an exhibition about the life and legacy of Gabrielle Coco Chanel. A journey through the origins of CHANEL's creations capturing the personality and irreverent spirit of Mademoiselle Chanel (played by Geraldine Chaplin) and Karl Lagerfeld. The exhibition begins with a reconstruction of the mirrored staircase above Chanel’s salon which leads us to several rooms linked by white passageways edged by black trim at the floor and ceiling. An exhibition light on historical detail and big on brand experience, it takes up the entire three floors of the Saatchi gallery, beginning with a garden designed to represent key influences in Coco’s life.
Sunrise, Sunset: King Krule
Sunrise, Sunset is a NOWNESS series of dawn and dusk performances by rising and established musicians created by music filmmaking collective Yours Truly. The above video is a performance of one of my favourite british artists, King Krule, filmed at the closing of a dusty Los Angeles day. “Cementality” is a highlight of the 19-year-old artist's acclaimed debut album, 6 Feet Beneath The Moon. Look out for NOWNESS' bespoke dusk and dawn collaborations with Yours Truly during the coming months on their website here.
Louis Vuitton Series 3
Louis Vuitton: Series 3 exhibition is a multi-sensorial experience that allows us to explore and understand the creative process of the mind behind the brand - Nicolas Ghesquière. The exhibition uses technology to get you inside Ghesquière's mind and show you different steps of creative process, and it's so impactful that sometimes it's almost impossible to understand what's real and what's a projection of reality.
UNIQLO and LEMAIRE
This October the 2nd, was the launch of Uniqlo and Lemaire collaboration. The former Hermès designer and the Japanese brand have come together to create a capsule collection of timeless elegance for everyday essentials. The French label brings Parisian cool to Uniqlo.
Above you can see some of my favourite pieces from the collection, mainly the knitwear pieces (nothing like getting cozy in cashmere when it’s cold outside). You can still find some of the pieces available online and in store at Uniqlo Regent St.

Dream House #12
When decorating I've always been inspired by a minimalistic style with very edited displays. Although I love that particular style I find those sort of decors a bit un-livable and lacking of personality. So lately I've been loving spaces where through the decor you can find some details of the people who live in those spaces. And I found this flat truly inspiring!

Firmoo - Matt Tortoise Glasses
Finding a new pair of reading glasses has been on my 'to-do' list for months. I suffer from farsightedness from a very young age and therefore glasses have been on my face for most of my of my life. Luckily for the past few years my sight has improved considerably which means I now only need glasses for reading/tv/computer. I already owned a pair of black frames that I usually leave at work so they don't get damaged (or worse, lost) but lately I felt I should get a second pair to have at home for when I'm working at the blog on my laptop or watching a movie in the evenings. I was very happy when Firmoo got in touch with me and asked me to review their glasses and very kindly sent me a pair of my choice.

Beauty Dept #7
RMS - Raw Coconut Cream & Living Luminizer
Natural beauty and skincare products have increasingly stepped into my beauty routine as part of the more conscious lifestyle I've been trying to adopt. My philosophy when it comes to my beauty routine is to care for my skin in order to enhance my natural features with make up. Like skincare with no colour, RMS products are lightweight and chemical-free and are designed to perfect the complexion with nourishing and natural formulas. The Raw Coconut Cream was the first product I've tried from the brand and I used it as part of my double-cleanse routine. The Living Luminizer was on my wishlist since forever and I was lucky enough to score it at a really good price on a staff sale at work (the perks of working in beauty). This product can also be used as part of the new make-up trend branded 'Strobing'. Has anyone else already tried any RMS Beauty products?
